Translations of this page?:

The “Whistleblow Village” is a hub for information, action, invention and coordination about the persecution of whistleblowers and publishers everywhere. It has a strong focus on ending WikiLeaks and Assange's political persecution.

It is a place to discuss and explore the consequences of such a “war on journalism”; it is a place to celebrate the importance of freedom to publish and access information; and a place for exploring the ethical use of technology for publishing and countering surveillance, etc.

Throughout RC3 there will be a number of panels, group discussions, various collective efforts and initiatives, workshops, etc. Decentralized infrastructure will be shared ( including this wiki, pads, Big Blue Button rooms, a PeerTube instance, a radio stream, and more) Our only limit is the pixelated sky!

Whistleblow Village is a place to meet, but it is also an adventure! The courageous and adventurous will be rewarded by many badges on their journey towards the prison of Guantanamarsh, and beyond…. Will you find your way to Mount Dox and explore its numerous spaces? Many surprises -some of them gruesome!- await on your way…. (nudge, nudge, teaser, teaser, knowhaddamean…)

The village is mostly:

  • A cozy village and campfire area, with Jitsi and Big Blue Button rooms, an audio stream (Radio Free Assange) and a video playlist. A place to meet and organize;
  • A bunch of resources, objects that open web pages, signage and tools whenever you get near them;
  • A quest, an adventure in a cold dark world, where participants can earn badges while making mysterious discoveries…
  • HINT: Follow the path towards the East… Will you dare entering the Guantanamarsh prison? Will you find out the truth about Mount Dox (hint: take the path to the East!)

Whistleblow Village was built as part of RC3, in December 2020. Find some background information about RC3 on a dedicated archive page.

RC3, the “Remote Congress Experience” has been the occasion to organize against the ongoing persecution of publishers and whistleblowers worldwide, with a focus on the extradition procedure of Julian Assange to the USA, (where he faces up to 175 years in prison for “espionage”) -- and the verdict of the 4th of January 2021.

Throughout RC3 (2020) there has been a number of panels, group discussions, various collective efforts and initiatives, workshops, etc. Decentralized infrastructure will be shared ( including this wiki, pads, a PeerTube instance, a radio stream, and more) Our only limit is the pixelated sky!

After RC3 (2020), the village was brought back online, on our own servers, as an island now disconnected from the other maps/villages of RC3…

Let's list what can be organized in this space, along with the following pad: https://cryptpad.fr/pad/#/2/pad/edit/XioLI3V0dobQb6rQy6siDtcF/
