[[the_actors:ecuador:ecuadorian_embassy_in_london|Spent 7 years in the Ecuadorian embassy]] in London, where he obtained political asylum, Ecuadorian citizenship, and lived in conditions amounting to arbitrary detention (according to the UN special rapporteur on arbitrary detention.) Further, under president Lenin Moreno, got asylum and citizenship revoked and got kidnapped out of the embassy to be thrown in Belmarsh prison.
