====Today marks one year since the unlawful and brutal arrest of Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.====

Since that day, and his subsequent detention at the maximum security prison HMP Belmarsh, he has mostly been held in solitary confinement, kept inside a cell for 23 hours a day. 
U.N. Special Rapporteur on Torture Nils Melzer determined that his treatment over the years and continuing in Belmarsh amounts to torture. 
Access to his lawyers was severely restricted, as were his access to court documents and a computer with which to effectively prepare his defence.
He has consistently been denied a fair hearing and since completing a disproportionate sentence in September for bail skipping, is being arbitrarily detained.

One year of fear, isolation, injustice, oppressive conditions, surveillance, demonisation, inhumane treatment, torture, abuse and death threats.
